Rest Area E6 Stav Northbound to close temporary

Construction work is to be carried out at the E6 Stav northbound rest area. The rest area will therefore need to be closed during this period, from 02.06.2026. As a temporary measure, the facility will be relocated to E6 Stav southbound for the duration of the works. The expected closure period is 6–7 months.

What this means for users of the E6 Stav northbound rest area

  • The rest area will temporarily relocate to E6 Stav southbound

  • The number of parking spaces will be somewhat reduced compared to the normal situation at Stav northbound

  • The facility at E6 Stav southbound will be maintained as normal

  • Opening hours and services at Stav Hotel and St1 (north- and southbound) are not affected by these changes

Car parking at Stav Hotel

Changes will also be made to car parking for Stav Hotel. Parking on the southbound side will be closed to cars and relocated to the northbound side. Crossing E6 can be done via the slip road at Stav Hotel.

How to get to and from Stav southbound

  • Northbound vehicles wishing to use E6 Stav southbound should follow the E6 to Sveberg, turn around at the interchange, and take the exit to E6 Stav southbound

  • Northbound vehicles continuing from E6 Stav southbound should follow the southbound on-ramp onto the E6, continue to Reitan and turn around at the roundabout

  • Southbound vehicles using E6 Stav southbound are not affected — no changes to their route

Public Transport

The E6 Stav northbound bus stop will be moved approximately 60 metres closer to St1. AtB will maintain the public transport service in accordance with the current timetable. The E6 Stav southbound bus stop remains unchanged.

Traffic and Safety

During this period, traffic patterns at E6 Stav north- and southbound will be altered. We ask all road users to follow signage and show consideration for other road users.
